Bertschi's Learning Services program supports students' varied
learning needs.
The goal of our Learning Services program is to provide screening, resources,
and support to facilitate the educational success of children with diverse
learning styles and needs. Bertschi provides resources to support children
with a range of learning capabilities—from those experiencing difficulties
to those exceeding grade-level expectations. We acknowledge and celebrate
that children’s learning profiles can vary widely across academic, social
and emotional arenas.
Throughout the school year, our Learning Services
Director and Learning Services Specialists work in partnership with the
teaching staff, administration, and parents to:
- Identify students with specialized learning needs
- Provide initial screening and referral services
- Facilitate appropriate educational strategies
- Develop and strengthen learning accommodations and curriculum
- Provide specialized academic support to selected students
- Serve as an information resource for teachers and parents
Bertschi offers a variety of on-campus support/resources including individual
instruction, reading groups, specialized classes, accelerated programming,
and after school homework support. The Learning Services staff offers
specialized one-to-one instruction; these services are available at
an additional cost on a contracted basis.
